Killin Elementary School is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA), a subgroup of Advanc-ED. This is an accrediting program that includes an actual team visit by NCA members every five years to review the development and implementation of the school improvement plan. It also includes a documentation review visit every five years. Killin Elementary School was visited in school year 2003-2004 for their development and implementation visit and again in school year 2005-2006 for their documentation visit. As a point of interest, most stateside schools are evaluated against the standard of their state only; DoDDS schools are evaluated against both DoDDS standards and the standards of Advanc-ED.
