If your child will need to take medication during school hours, please notify the nurse. The nurse will be happy to administer the medication as prescribed to your child within the guidelines of the following DoDDS policy concerning the administration of medications at school. Please do not give the medication to your child to deliver to the nurse.
- The nurse may not administer medication to students unless prescribed by a physician. This includes Tylenol.
- Medications to be given at school must be labeled “For School Use Only” by the pharmacy.
- A “Hold Harmless” form must be on file at the school before the medication can be given. The form may be obtained at the clinic or the nurse’s office and must be signed by both the physician and parent.
- Self-administered medication is not allowed. Students found with medications in their possession will have them taken away.
